In early 2004 I was lucky to be accepted by a consulting engineers office in San Francisco as an engineering intern. It was for six months and started in August 2004.

It had always been my dream to visit USA and it all became even better when my good old friend Klaus decided to come along so we could travel through the country together prior to arriving in San Francisco.

This was my first big trip and gave me a feel for how great it is to travel and experience new places! It was also a great boost to my confidence in terms of my education since a lot of the things I had learnt at university were very useful in the assignments I was given at Ben C. Gerwick Inc.

The internship also gave me the opportunity to visit amazing places like Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Mexico, Canada and the list goes on…
