Before starting my job in Australia I saw the opportunity to go on an adventure through Asia!
The trip took me through Thailand, Vietnam, China, Tibet, Japan and Fiji and was for two months.
I had never tried to travel for so long on my own and in that part of the world, so a new adventure was unfolding everyday as I went along! The funny thing is that I never felt lonely at any stage! I was on a high (no drugs)! I met so many different and amazing people on my path that I had never even dreamed of.
Bangkok, ancient temples and palaces in Thailand, trekking in the jungle, relaxing on the beautiful beaches on Phuket, wandering around the old communism parts of Hanoi, sailing in the amazing Ha Long Bay, trekking in mountain valleys in Northern Vietnam, crossing the border to China on foot, trying to survive in a country where no one spoke English, suddenly including a visit to the World’s Roof Tibet, making it through to Mt. Everest Base Camp (5200 m above sea level) on dirt roads, visiting the ancient Chinese capital of Xian, sitting on a wooden seat in a train for 22 hours, standing on the World’s largest dam on the Yantze River, walking on the Great Wall reaching as long as the next mountain range disappearing out of sight, experiencing the big city life in Beijing and Shanghai, being impressed with the perfect manners of the Japanese people and the punctuality of the Japanese civilization, traveling around the beautiful south Island of Kyushu, sleeping in the traditional Japanese ryokan, being amazed by the cultural mekka of Kyoto, being a spectator to sumo wrestling (and getting really caught up in the excitement), feeling the buzz in Tokyo - one of the busiest cities in the world and having three great days in Fiji with the friendly big Fijians saying a smiling BULA!
- was all part of making the trip something I will always remember!
Asia will open up to you from the link on the right!
