I have now worked at Arup (which has designed the Goodwill Bridge in Brisbane above) for two weeks. There is a great atmosphere in the office and the company and the employees have created a very positive way of working.

I am working in the civil structures group as a maritime engineer. I am already involved in a variety of projects, which include:

• Coastal protection and beach nourishment for an eroding beach in Hong Kong
• Finalising construction drawings for construction to commence on Newstead Riverpark. This will include site involvement
• Design of groyne (seawall) on Green Island
• Site involvement in connection with construction of a pedestrian bridge at the Gold Coast

There are alot of young and diverse people in the office and also many different nationalities.
