The latest trip in the pursuit to explore more of the great country down under took me to the southernmost state of Tasmania!

I spent the first day in Hobart, which has a very cultural appearance due to the older buildings and quaters by the harbour. There is a lively atmosphere by the harbour with tonnes of great seafood restaurants and trandy cafees. Being in Hobart made me feel a bit at home (as in Denmark) - due to the above and the colder climate and chilling winds!
Monday started the 6 day bus tour around the island. It was a great tour with a great group of people from many countries.
First day was to the former prison of Port Arthur, which is on a peninsula with spectacular coastline.
Second day we went to Freycinet National Park and a walked to the amazing wineglass bay. We stayed in Bicheno - a very nice east coast town where we watched penguins come ashore at dusk! We also played pool with some locals at the pub, which had a fire place.
Third day started with a visit to a nice wildlife park, where we saw Tasmanian devils, wombats, kangaroos and many more Aussie animals. Then we went to the Bay of Fires where Mads, Dixon, Robert and I went for a swim in the 15 degree water! Before arriving in Launceston we visited a nice waterfall in the rainforest, a cosy coutryside and a cheese factory.
Fourth day it was time for Cradle Mountain National Park! We did a good hike in the low clouds and rain and didn't see much of the mountain. But we managed to get a view of Cradle Mt. the next morning when it was clear.
Fifth Day we reached the west coast at Strahan. On the way we saw a 100 m tall waterfall and a big sand dune among other things.
Sixth day took us back to Hobart through Mt. Field National Park. On the way we saw some spectacular waterfalls located in dense rainforest.
The last day in Tassie I went on an adventure cruise off Bruny Island in the south. It was a fantastic boat trip, where we were taken very close to over 300 m vertical cliff drops, sailed through narrow gaps in the cliffs at high speed and saw hundreds of seals.
I would recommend anyone to go to Tasmania!
